1. Pricing - Individual

• Conduct accurate and timely modeling, risk analysis, and other new business development activities

• Draw from a range of information sources to diagnose and respond to problems and issues

• Contribute to the design of reinsurance transactions

• Model and analyze quotes using the approved pricing basis 

• Use statistical and/or actuarial approaches to interpret issues and identify business risks

• Make pricing recommendations based on work completed

• Ensure proper filing (and backup) of all quotation files

• Review treaty and addendum wordings and ensure consistency with offer documents and other documentation

• Assist in product development initiatives

  2. Marketing & Research

• Provide support in the development of marketing initiatives

• Assist with experience studies and internal reviews as required

• Assist with research and review the Pricing Basis as required

  3. Industry Knowledge and Participation

• Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives within the team (e.g. attend Lunch and Learns)

• Build and utilize internal resources with the aim of improving business practices

• Keep abreast of local trends that may affect pricing function:
   - Regulations
   - Competitors
   - Clients

• Identify and communicate emerging trends and recommend specific action to:
   - address opportunity/threat
   - influence regulations/trends as need be

  4. Modeling and Communication

• Identify continuous improvement opportunities that impact a particular work practice/process

• Evaluate work practices to minimize rework and maximize productivity

• Support and assist to identify project tasks, activities and dependencies

• Identify various options and seeks optimal solution in modeling data

• Develop appropriate robust models to manipulate and model data

• Consider data modeling issues and proposes process improvements to minimize risk of error

• Assist in the technical and peer review of others models

• Manage special projects or ad hoc duties as required.
